Long Tall Dexter Gordon circa 1964. Dexter remained at the forefront of musical influences for at least four decades. Coltrane stated that Dexter was a main influence, then in the 60's Dexter became influenced by his protégé. Check out Herbie Hancock's Takin' Off for some beautiful playing by Dexter and Freddie Hubbard.
